April 13, 1959 Chemist / Manager Single Again 1
Wow, hard to believe it's been 32 years since I had the pleasure of seeing you guys everyday.

I graduated from UAB in 1980 with a Biology degree and from Huntingdon College in 1991 with a degree in Chemistry.  I've worked in the environmental lab business for the last 22 years, but recently took a job with the NC Dept. of Agriculture in the Food and Drug Protection Division.  (So I am still a lab rat.)  I moved to the Raleigh, NC area with my job in 1997, and I love the area.  When you move to NC it is a requirement to become a Nascar fan, so Dale Jr. is my man of choice.  While I have become a UNC tarheel since arriving in NC, my first allegiance has not changed - War Eagle!  (Sorry Judi!)  They have a wonderful Auburn club here, so on gameday you can find me and my family pulling for the tigers with another 50 or so fans at High Park Bar and Grill.

I have a gorgeous 27 year old daughter, a wonderful son-in-law (who is also an Alabama born and bred Auburn fan, even though my daughter met him here in NC), and the loves of my life - grand-daughter Alexis Regan (born May 12, 2009) and grand-daughter Addison Teresa (born March 25, 2009).  My daughter also worked in the environmental business for the last 8 years, but thanks be to God (and her awesome husband) she has the privilege of being a professional mom and homemaker.

Since my daughter and I had no plans on leaving NC, my parents gave up their home of 33 years in Arrowhead, and moved here to be with us.  They have been here for a year and a half now, so I don't make it to Alabama much anymore.  I do still try and meet my sister, who lives in Houston, down for an Auburn game once a year; although it is doubtful we will make it down this year.

I am very active with my local republican party, Johnston County GOP, and the local women's republican group (JCRW).  I am the Secretary for the JCGOP and the website administrator for the JCGOP and the JCRW.  I spent alot of time volunteering during the 2008 elections (while unemployed for 5 months), and got hooked.

I have always been active in my local church, and that continues to be the case here.  We are members of a baptist church that was planted here 2 1/2 years ago.  God has blessed our church with over a hundred active members already and 33 acres of land to build on (currently we meet in a school.)  Personally, I cannot imagine my life without all of the blessings God has given for over my 49 years of life.  Thankfully it is not based on my I deserve.

I look forward to seeing updates from each of you, and may God bless!

December 12, 1958 Owner, IT Services Firm www.sca-atl.com Married 2
Wow.  Just went through and read ALL the profiles.  It was great to see what everyone has been doing, and I'm deeply saddened to learn of those who are no longer with us.

Although not in touch fully with Glen Smith while we were at LHS our paths crossed at AU and again after school.  I remember Glen often, and I'm discouraged by the loss.

Life has been good and fair to me.  I graduated from AU in June 1981, moved to the Atlanta suburbs and I'm still here.  I married Laura in 1984 and somehow, for some unknown reason, she still puts up with me.  We have two children, William (22) and Michelle (19).  With any luck, William will graduate form Ga Tech this summer, and Michelle is at Gainseville State College (near Atlanta).

I worked as a structural engineer until 1991 when I became IT Director and Manager of Design for the firm where I worked.  Eventually the boss told me I wasn't doing either one very well and that I'd better pick one to lighten my load.  I chose IT.  In 1995 I founded an IT Services firm, thinking it would just be me forever.  Things have gone well, people have helped me along the way, and somehow we now have 15 employees.  I never dreamed this big.

Hope to hear from some of you soon.

(Deceased ~ Cancer)

Rememberance of Sue - Judi Freeman Carden.   Sue passed away in 2003, I believe was the year.  Sue and I went 1st thru 12 grade together and she was always a sweet, sweet girl.  Many years after graduation, she and David Scoggins married.  I will never forget that when she passed away, David spent the night at the funeral home...he didn't want to leave her.  Judi Freeman Carden

I knew Sue very well.  We had classes together. I remember she was very pretty (in my opinion) except she
was a little bit snaggle toothed. That didn’t bother her a bit, she was always smiling and you could always count on a sweet "hello" when you saw her.  She had that long dark beautiful hair.  We had Business Law together in the back part of the school where, for some reason, it was always cold during the Winter and she sat in front of me.  I would lay my head down on my desk during study time and she would lean back and throw that long hair over me like a blanket.  I thought I had gone to heaven !! It is my good fortune to be able to count her as one of my good friends in High School. God bless you Sue. You are gone but definitely not forgotten . . . . at least not by me.  -Brian

From Cindy (Jefferson) McKim:  I never had Sue in any of our classes at Lee; however, my softball team played against her softball team in my junior and senior years in high school.  She was very talented and a tough competitor!  It was obvious to me that she was loved and respected by her teammates.  God bless you, Sue.

I had the honor of working with Susan at Stallings & Sons Construction.  When I went in for the interview I looked at her and said I know you!  We discovered that we had gone to school together.  She was the office manager, bookeeper and keeper of all things there.  She had been with them for years.  I worked there when she met her husband Charles who she truly adored.  He was her everything.  She had a really good friend Julie Cook and her dog Electra who was a Mama's girl.  Susan was a wonderful person and a great friend.  I was sorry to hear of her passing.  You are truly missed Susan.  We love you!!!!
