April 14, 1959 Vice President - Newspaper Industry Single 2
Life is good in the foothills of the Appalachians just south of Chattanooga. After high school, I graduated from Auburn with a public relations-journalism degree. It was not long before I found myself in the newspaper business as a sports editor in Enterprise. After early career stops in Dothan and Cullman, I returned to Dothan as editor of The Dothan Eagle, where I stayed for 10 years. Then I spent the next 10 years of my career at four different daily newspapers in the role of publisher. Those jobs took my family from Marianna, Fla., to Americus and Cordele, Ga., and then the most-recent stop was in Dalton, Ga., in 2003. Today, although I still live outside of Dalton, I am a vice president/division manager for Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., based in Birmingham, and I oversee 16 newspapers in Texas and Mississippi. Yes, I do spend some time traveling, but with the exception of airports, it’s great to see different parts of the country – and just for the record, Texas is big.
On a personal side, I lost my wife of 13 years, Ramona, to cancer in July 2008 - what a wonderful and special lady who was the love of my life. I have two great children - my son (from my first marriage), Chris, 24, who is a paramedic in Panama City, and my daughter (who Ramona brought into my life), Ryan, 24, who is a student at Dalton State College, where she is working on a degree in accounting. Finally, it amazes me to read about all of you and your families and to see how your lives have flourished since our high school days.

First, a great big thank you to Judi for all she does!!  I have almost 30 years of civil service between Maxwell & Gunter.  I've had some really good jobs thru the years.  At my job prior to the one I have now I got to meet and mingle with some high ranking military and civilian people especially from the DC area because of my position.  I travel a good bit with my current job as I have with many of my jobs and really like it.  More later.

August 03, 1959 Senior Proposal Manager Married 1
Thanks to Bart Cook for sending me the web address. I'm living in Virginia now, working as a Senior Proposal Manager for Stanley Associates, a government contractor.

After graduation from Lee, I attended AUM (English major) then worked at First Alabama Bank from 1981 to 1989, starting on the night shift and ending up running voice telecommunications. From there I went to work for BellSouth International and spent 2 1/2 years in Shanghai, China. I met my wife, Jenny,  there and we've been married for 17 years as of Valentine's Day.

From Shanghai back to Montgomery and Regions Financial for a couple more years, but that got old and I went to the University of Texas for my MBA from 1996 to 1998. After that, I worked for Accenture for 7 1/2 years before moving to Stanley.

Jenny and I have a six year old daughter, Stephanie, who helps me avoid growing up.

June 28, 1959 Library Director www.wetumpkalibrary.com Married 2

How great to find this site! I graduated from the University of Alabama in 1981, spent 10 years or so in photography, took a break to stay home with my two girls, then went back to the U of A and got a Master's in Library Science  to go with the job I have as Library Director at the Wetumpka Public Library. Katie is a sophomore at Troy University and Anna is a junior at Elmore County High School. I've been married to Andy for 23 years this June and live as far north in Elmore County as one can possibly live.
