This is a remembrance comment:

I'm not sure many people remember Mark.  He was quiet and moved in small circles of close friends.

My memory of him actually involved his sister, Terri.   Terri and I worked together during our high schools years.  I was at numberous events with one or both of them.  Mark was joyfully proud and fiercely protective of his sister.

On a personal level, he was friendly and had a welcome smile.  Quite frankly, I've heard rumors of his demise and don't know what really transpired, but for whatever happened and for whatever path Marks' life may have been misguided, he was at one point a nice friend, a loving brother, and a proud member of our class.   Go with God my friend.

I am trying to get a date.  If anyone has information, please let me know.  Judi Freeman Carden

I became friends with Mark during 10th grade. I am not sure how, we didn't share any classes together.  We talked whenever we ran into each other and "clicked".   I "don't do math" very well and made a D so my parents made me go to summer school to bring the grade up. Mark had also not done well, so had to go as well. We were happy to see each other and sat together along with Dennis (can't remember his last name), in Mr Samuel Jackson's class. We made the time there fun. We teased Mr Jackson for 2 months. We hung out a lot and he became a best friend. Early summer he introduced me to a senior, Roger Mays, also taking a summer class to graduate, and he became my boyfriend for a while. If I wasn't with Roger, I was with Mark, all summer long!  When something happened that I wasn't happy about, I broke up with Roger, and headed straight to see Mark. He let me vent and gave me a shoulder to cry on. He was the only guy that managed to come to my house and after greeting my mom, headed staight to my bedroom if I was in there. No one else dared!!!  Of course we didn't stay in there and were just good friends. School started for 11th grade and we discovered that we actually had 1st period together and were happy about that!  We walked into class together and there was Mr Jackson!!!  He saw us and promptly dropped his head in his head and moaned, "oh, no, Why ME?"  We both proudly sat side by side, on the 1st chair of each row....directly in front of his desk. And of course we teased him every day. We weren't bad, never got sent to the principle, but we had fun in math!!! I always went way early for school, and hung out before classes with Mark, Dennis and his girlfriend ('78) Carol Mays. ( she was my ex-bf's sister). We had our own spot that we always parked at together and usually stayed there until class started. There was a group of us hanging out every morning, that seemed to grow. We just enjoyed each other's company, and laughed a lot. Mark, Dennis, Carol and I went to the Lee/ Jeff Davis game in Oct of '75. We had a blast showing our support for Lee!  At one point, Mark and Dennis came up with the idea to put me and Carol up on their shoulders. So, up we went! Carol and I are up there, waving our arms and yelling for the Generals, and Mark and Dennis are standing there holding us up!!!  I look back now and think how steep those bleechers were and how it would have hurt if we fell. And I think, "where was my mind???" My dad's company gave him a promotion and we moved to St Pete, FL just a couple of weeks later. Mark and I didn't do writing too well, so it was slow and long in between keeping up with each other. I finished HS in Florida, then we got transfered to Columbia SC. I moved back to St Pete June of '79 and married a guy I met soon after I moved there in 11th grade. I took him to Montgomery during the last part of our honeymoon. I wanted him to see where I live and meet some of my friends.  I had long since lost touch with Mark, but still had his parents phone #. I tried to reach him but his mom told me that he was in the military and was now married. He was away in the service, but his wife was there with them. She told me her name, but I didn't know her, so declined talking to her. I gave my new contact information to pass on to Mark (and new name)  but ended up having to move just a few months later (because the people we rented from weren't doing well where they moved to and wanted their house back). So never heard from him again. I always regretted that.  I came across his parents ph # several years later and called, but it was disconnected. Mark was a great friend. Always had a big smile and ready to laugh. We were able to vent to each other about our love lives and always gave each other encouragement. He will have a place in my heart, forever. <3   Marisa Williams

June 01, 1959 Retired/Disabled Single
Hello,Everyone;
 I left R.E.Lee for Troy State U. at Troy,Al. I had intended to be a Band Director; so was a Music major. I attended for 3.33 years and severely injured my right knee.
 After a long ordeal I finally received some surgery; so I could walk again. However, a requirement for Music majors was to be in the marching band.  This I could not do for sometime. Needless to say; my career ended due to the abrupt end to my attendance and inability to meet any requirements. Some red tape kept me any further attendance these past years.
 I traveled, I drove(in one form or another), and then developed a short career in Security.
 I had finally returned home and remained close for my departed father. In the meantime, I have developed severe arthritis in both knees
and I am now retired.( That means I got tired twice?) But, I am an able-bodied old poop and do what I can to assist my mother & sisters & neices & nephews.
 I am a stubborn and self-taught computer geek and I keep busy. God has blessed me with some really wonderful friends; which we are constantly helping each other with some project or another.  Wanna know more? Ya gotta ask..
                             God Bless You All
                              (especially Judi for her work)

I married Angelo Hronas in June 1981 and have 2 sons.We started out in Texarkana, Texas where we lived for 7 1/2 years. My husband works for IBM and I taught kindergarten for 4 1/2 years until my oldest son George was born in 1985. I then became a stay home Mom and enjoyed it. We then moved to Chicago in 1988 and lived there until 1990. My youngest son Christopher was born in April 1990. In July we moved to Dallas where we have lived for 19 years. We both enjoy college football and traveling. He is an Arkansas Razorback fan and yes I still love and watch Alabama football all the time.ROLL TIDE ROLL!  I go and see Alabama play everytime they are in the area or when they play Arkansas. My oldest son George played football since he was 8 years old. He was awarded  first team all-district in high school and then went on to Henderson State University and recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management/Recreation where he is currently seeking employment. My youngest son Christopher graduated high school in 2008 and is planning to become an electrician. He also played football and hockey where he won numerous awards. As you can see both boys kept us busy as parents but we enjoyed watching them and making lots of friends. We also have two dogs, a yellow lab and a german shepard/terrier mix. This website is awesome and I am thankful for Judy sending it to me. It is great seeing what everyone is up too! My family still lives in Montgomery and I visit often.
